Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is an essential technique in infertility treatment. Piezo-ICSI uses a piezo element to semiautomatically perform sperm immobilization, zona opening, and membrane breakage. If Piezo-ICSI is not performed correctly, it only ruptures the oocyte. The degeneration rate, normal fertilization rate, and blastocyst development rate of Piezo-ICSI performed by our four embryologists in 2024 were 2.0% (74/3,716), 84.7% (3,149/3,716), and 69.9% (2,170/3,104), respectively. This article introduces the mechanism and procedure of Piezo-ICSI.
